English Tutorials 0 Yorum

With this tutorial I am going to show you how to give a retro look to your images.
I am starting with an image bought from Dreamstime for just 1$. The image is copyrighted and that’s why I have watermarked it so noone downloads it from here. Also keep in mind that I am working on the full resolution image which is 6 MP while the images posted here are scaled down.

English Tutorials 0 Yorum

With this tutorial I am going to show you a way to create a speeding text effect like this one
Final result

1) Let’s start by creating a new file. Select the “Type Tool”, make sure the color of the text is set to white and type your text.

2) We are now going to duplicate our text leayer. Go to “Layer” -> “Duplicate Layer” (Or hit “Ctrl-J”)

3) You should now have two text layers, select the bottom one and go to “Filter” -> “Stylize” -> “Wind”. A message will come up saying that the layer needs to be rasterized to apply the filter, click ok and continue. Leave the method to “Wind” and the direction from the right.

Reflection Tutorial

English Tutorials 0 Yorum

With this tutorial I am going to show you how you can add reflections to your text, shapes or isolated objects. This is a very common (and easy) technique and is used a lot, especially in web design.

As an example for this tutorial I will add a reflection to text, however as I said before you can also use the same technique to add reflections to shapes or isolated objects.
Let’s start our little Photoshop training session .

I have created a new document and just type PS Reflection as you can see in the screenshot below.

PS reflection text

The first step is to duplicate our text layer. You can do that by simply pressing Ctrl+J or by going to Layer -> Duplicate Layer.

You may have noticed that I have added a Free Video Tutorials Page. These Tutorials are provided for free from Watch and Learn Photoshop (one of the sponsors of this blog), a company that offers affordable Photoshop training video tutorials, and a new free video tutorial is added every week to the list. This week’s video tutorial explains how to add a reflection to a 3d object such as a box, a process that is a bit more complicated than adding reflections to 2d layers like text or shape layers.
